Formidabel enkeltmarks-Riesling fra Joh. Jos. Prüm med bla. 94 point hos Decanter.
Med denne skønhed af en hvidvin demonstrerer Joh. Jos. Prüm endnu en gang, hvorfor de betragtes som et af de absolutte tophuse indenfor tysk Riesling. Druerne kommer fra den legendariske Graacher Himmelreich-mark, og udtrykker sig yderst kølig og seriøs med duft af lime, urter, røg og mirabelle. Vinen er halv-tør med en nærmest elektrisk og levende syre, der tilfører så meget modspil til sødmen, at vinen fremstår yderst læskende og forfriskende.
For at bevare så meget renhed og finesse i vinen, som muligt, lagres den udelukkende i ståltanke. Her får man Riesling med en ufattelig dybde og koncentration , som enhver vinelsker er nødt til at stifte bekendtskab med.
Vinous - 93
The 2022 Riesling Graacher Himmelreich Kabinett has the slightest crackle of flint on the shy nose. Fennel and nutmeg appear before orange peel joins in. The palate is light, with a lovely, smooth, lithe backdrop of sweet mandarin and clementine. The 2022 is tart, sweet, ripe, aromatic and rather serene with just a touch of zestiness. Lovely length and much charm.
Decanter - 94
Cooler in tone than the more sun-kissed Wehlener Sonnenuhr, this delightfully stony, crystalline wine highlights the Mosel's mineral intensity. Light as a feather yet bracing with lemon-lime acidity, the palate highlights ripe but pristine flavours of green apple skins, fresh celery and yellow plums. Just a hint off-dry and kissed with flint, it's a revitalising, spry wine that's welcoming young but cellarworthy too.
James Suckling - 95
This wonderful Mosel Kabinett has a wide spectrum of white tree fruit, wild berry and herb aromas. Impressive concentration on the very focused light-bodied palate. I love the racy acidity and pronounced slatey minerality that is wrapped around the very long and clean finish. Drink or hold.
Robert Parker - 93
The 2022 Graacher Himmelreich Kabinett is quite reductive on the clear and quite intense flinty nose that indicates ripe and concentrated fruit with a spicy-phenolic touch. The wine is dense and pretty tight and provided with fine tannins and stimulating salinity. The 2022 is a vintage that needs a certain bottle age to gain in finesse. 9% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine from AP 24 23 in January 2025.
