Umådeligt elegant vin fra historiske Wehlener Sonnenuhr.
Dette mesterværk fra Joh. Jos Prüm er på Kabinett-niveau, hvilket er det prädikat med det laveste krav til mostvægt under den tyske vinlovgivning. Disse vine er ofte de letteste i genren og dem, som de fleste foretrækker at drikke for sig selv, mens de gemmer Spätlese og Auslese til maden. Her får man en knivskarp og super elegant vin med masser af blomstrede noter og våde sten.
Druerne fra de gamle vinstokke høstes manuelt og vinificeres i temperaturregulerede ståltanke. Afhængigt af årgangen vinificeres undertiden en mindre mængde i ældre egefade. Ofte aftappes vinen noget senere end de fleste andre Mosel-vine og har i det hele taget godt af at udvikle sig nogle år på flaske, før det fulde potentiale for alvor folder sig ud.
Decanter - 95
This vibrantly peachy, salt-licked kabinett requires just a few minutes of aeration to peel back the layers of smoke and slate that may obscure its fragrant, abundantly fruity style. Just a shade off-dry, it's a piercing, laser-edged sip of cut stone, bracing white peach, and lemon and lime flavours. Lacy in texture but lifted and searing, the finish is harmoniously dry and meanders on veins of salt and gunpowder. A thrilling, complex yet irresistibly youthful wine that's ready now with a decant but sure to reward cellaring as well.

Here is a great Mosel Kabinett that needs a bit more time to show what it is really made of. Still very young with a pronounced yeasty character that slowly recedes with aeration, but the white peach and honeysuckle aromas that emerge are stunning. Extremely vibrant and precise, the slatey acidity making this fabulously graceful. As pure as an Alpine stream running with glacier water. Drinkable now, but best from 2025.

The 2022 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Kabinett is clear, pure and flinty on the bright and fresh nose that offers clear and precise fruit intermingled with notes of crushed rocks, and it doesn't give any hint of drought stress. Full-bodied and lush, this is a textural and seriously persistent and mineral, digestible and food-friendly Kabinett with remarkable complexity and length. This is impressive, particularly because of the challenging vintage heat and drought. It's very stimulating due to its saline and crunchy slate character. 9% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine from AP 24 23 in January 2025.

The 2022 Riesling Wehlener Sonnenuhr Kabinett does not really want to show itself on the nose. But the palate presents immediate clarity and poise. This is laser-straight elegance, stone and citrus. This shows such pedigree, such clarity. So poised, so mouth-watering, so stony. (Medium)
