Asili er en af de store legendariske marker i Barbaresco - og man kan uden tvivl kunne sammenligne den med de største Grand Cru marker i Bourgogne. Og ligesom i Bourgogne har Asili flere ejere, som hver især dyrker deres få rækker af vinstokke som det pureste guld. Ceretto's parcel ligger på selve toppen af den lille sagnomspundne bakke og har dermed den absolut bedste eksponering.
Farven er dejlig lys rubin, helt ud til kanten. I næsen har vinen de mest friske, røde kirsebær, tranebær, rosenblade, hybenroser, violer og kandiseret appelsinskal. I munden svæver vinen næsten henover tungen med sin silkebløde skovbærfrugt og søde marmelade. Uden tvivl noget af det allerbedste, som Piemonte kan levere.

The Ceretto 2022 Barbaresco Asili has a little more power and structure at the back compared to the Gallina and Bernadot; however, it shows a similar directness and transparency that gives it a sharp and focused personality. You get more textural heft here as well, with very fine, glossy tannins. Fruit comes from a 1.2-hectare site at 200 and 290 meters in elevation. This vineyard has been singled out for excellence since the 1970s.

Aromas of earth, strawberries, watermelon and orange peel, with restrained touches of licorice, cherrystones and dried flowers such as roses and violets. Medium-bodied yet weighty and concentrated, with velvety tannins and lifted acidity. More elegant than powerful, it needs time for better integration of its grainy finish. Try from 2026.
Vinous - 94
The 2022 Barbaresco Asili is another impressive wine from Ceretto in this very challenging year. All of the inner perfume and nuance of Asili comes through in the glass. Sweet red fruit, kirsch, mint and sweet spice build over time. Asili is always Asili. That's pretty much all there is to it.
