Imponerende Barolo fra den sagnomspundne mark Rocche di Castiglione med 97 point!
Tidligere har man hos Cerettos blandet druerne fra deres lille parcel på den berømte mark Rocche di Castiglione i deres entry-level Barolo. Men nu er der omsider kommet en enkeltmarksvin fra netop Rocche di Castiglione, som flere anser for at være topmarken, hvad angår Barolo. Ikke mindst i sublime årgang 2021, hvor denne enkeltmarks Barolo har høstet 97 point hos Robert Parker.
Her får man en overdådig og mesterlig Barolo, som tydeligt bærer præg af det fornemme ophav fra Rocche di Castigliones stejle skråninger.
Duft af kirsebær, tørrede rosenblade med en flot struktur med perfekt afstemte tanniner og laserskarp syre. En overordentlig flot Barolo, selv for Ceretto.

One of my favorites is the Ceretto 2021 Barolo Rocche di Castiglione. I love fruit from the site because of the mineral qualities that give its wines unique focus. This vintage is a prime example of the tension and energy that you get in Castiglione Falletto. Background tones of sambuca, cola, aniseed and dried flower make the bouquet all the more interesting. This is a cool slope with southeastern exposures and loose soils in which the mother rock is sometimes exposed. Surrounded by forests, it is extremely steep, even "violently steep," as described by the winery, "holding on by a miracle."
James Suckling - 96
This shows bright aromas of eucalyptus, cedar, blueberries and cherries. The palate is clean, with silky tannins that are pure, crystalline, very well constructed and sophisticated. It shows concentration and an overall sense of balance that is very impressive. Already great to drink, but it will come together and improve with a couple of years of cellaring. Best from 2027.
Vinous - 95
The 2021 Barolo Rocche di Castiglione is such a classy wine. Kirsch, mint, cedar, sweet pipe tobacco, incense and dried herbs build beautifully. The 2021 possesses striking inner perfume and exceptional balance. Ripe, silky tannins pull it all together in the finish. This is a superb expression of Rocche di Castiglione.
