Flot Barberesco der gør Barolo rangen stridig som Piemontes bedste vin.
Med Barberesco Reyna 2018 har Michele Chiarlo skabt en bemærkelsesværdig god vin, der da også har høstet 94 point hos The Wine Enthusiast. Her kan man virkelig opleve, hvor nobelt, elegant og sublimt Nebbiolo-druen kan udtrykke sig.
Druerne høstet naturligvis manuelt, og vinen har lagret 18 måneder i store egetræsfade.
Barberesco Reyna har en nærmest svævende duft af tørrede rosenblade, sort the og små, røde bær. Strukturen er silkeblød, præcise og faste tanniner og et let krydret touch i den lange afslutning. En sand fornøjelse.
The Wine Enthusiast - 94
Aromas of truffle, rose, violet and camphor shape the enticing nose along with a whiff of leather. On the savory, linear palate, bright acidity and polished tannins accompany ripe raspberry, black cherry, tobacco and ground clove.
James Suckling - 93
Lots going on on the nose, with dried cherries and strawberries, colored by sous-bois elements, such as dried leaves and grilled mushrooms. Some brighter dried-flowers, too. Very nebbiolo and compact. Medium-bodied with lightly firm, dusty tannins and a nicely controlled finish. Delicious to drink now, but this will age, too.
