Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru er en af Bourgognes mest berømte og eftertragtede hvidvine, og Fontaine-Gagnards udgave fra årgang 2023 er et smukt udtryk for markens unikke kombination af kraft, dybde og elegance. Druerne kommer fra familiens parceller på Grand Cru-marken, hvor kalkrig jord og perfekt eksponering giver Chardonnay med exceptionel koncentration og mineralitet.
I næsen fremstår vinen kompleks og intens med aromaer af citrus, moden pære og fersken, ledsaget af hvide blomster, ristede mandler, smør og fine fadnoter. Smagen er rig og struktureret, men samtidig præcis og balanceret, med en levende syre, cremet tekstur og en lang, mineralsk afslutning, der vidner om vinens store klasse.
Årgang 2023 kombinerer flot moden frugt med friskhed og spændstighed, hvilket gør vinen imponerende allerede i sin ungdom, men samtidig oplagt til lang tids lagring.

A markedly smoky and floral-suffused nose exhibits very pretty, and quite spicy, aromas of various white orchard fruit, especially white peach, that are trimmed in enough wood influence to merit pointing out. There is excellent size, weight and volume to the overtly powerful big-bodied flavors that display outstanding persistence on the balanced, serious, compact and built-to-age finale. This is a terrific Bâtard with the development potential to match.
Vinous - 94-96
The 2023 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru is more austere than the Criots. Despite rigorous coaxing, a light marine element surfaces with time. The palate is well balanced, quite intense and fresh, with intriguing hints of red fruit on the finish. Once in bottle, this will be fascinating to monitor. This is a Grand Cru that deserves cellaring.
