James Suckling - 95-96
Shows solid ripeness for the vintage with plums, cherries and some orange peel as well as hazelnuts and cedar on both the nose and palate. Medium-bodied, this has creamy tannins, a juicy finish and a bit of fresh acidity at the end. Pretty length. A blend of 99.5% merlot and 0.5% petit verdot.
Vinous - 92-94
The 2024 La Fleur-Pétrus is such a gorgeous wine. Sensual and inviting, the 2024 is impressive from the very first taste. Floral and spice aromatics resonate on the palate, where the wine is layered and delicate without sacrificing depth. The 2024 really builds from the mid-palate and into the finish, showing terrific persistence and fine overall harmony.
Decanter - 93
Floral and fragranced on the nose. Smooth but quite tannic and creamy, this is it a little sombre with the initial tangy acidity fading into the background relatively quickly and more of a focus on the clean fruit which accentuate the darkly spiced elements of liquorice and clove. It’s well built, and serious, less fun than some but still with a solid frame and ripe fruit adding a touch of seduction. Just a bit oaky right now. Ageing 50% new oak barrels for 16-18 months.
