Til denne sublime topvin henter Simone Adams druer fra en lille vestvendt og højtliggende parcel, hvor vækstbetingelserne for Pinot Noir er særligt gunstige.
Ligesom hendes andre topvine lagres Horn i 18 måneder i brugte barrique-fade, og der gæres desuden med 100 % helklaser. Det giver en imponerende kompleksitet til vinen, der byder på lag på lag af skønne noter af fine røde bær, skovbund, sarte urter og træ.
Strukturen er blød som det fineste silke, og efterlader et utroligt imponerende helhedsindtryk, der nemt kan give mindelser om fx. Chambolle-Musigny fra Bourgogne.

The 2023 Spätburgunder Ingelheimer Horn is from the Tertiary limestone of the Mainzer Berg. This was also made with 100% whole bunches. Scent, florality, tart red fruit and a touch of creamy vine peach all come together on the beguiling, aromatic nose. The palate unites gentle creaminess, seamless and finely pixellated tannins, vivid red fruit and vibrating freshness. The 2023 is a supremely elegant, translucent, bright Pinot Noir of real finesse. This has impact, concentration and tone, without any fat at all.

The 2023 Horn Spätburgunder opens with a warm, generously aromatic but also deep and calcareous nose of red fruits, rose petals, herbs and crushed limestone. Full-bodied, intense and generous on the refined and elegant palate, yet with more tannins like the Auf dem Haun, this is a quite powerful and warming Spätburgunder with tannins that are still young and a little dry. It is more textured and mouth-filling yet not as precise and exciting as its southern neighbor. 12.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in April 2026.
