Topanmeldt Premier Cru fra et af Bourgognes bedste vinhuse.
2023 er blot anden årgang af Domaine des Lambrays fortrinlige Clos Sorbè Premier Cru.
Domainet ejer blot en lille andel af marken, men til gengæld laver de stor vin herfra.
Pinot Noir druerne gæres med helklaser (50%) for at give yderligere struktur og kompleksitet til den intense frugt, og der anvendes 20 % ny eg til lagringen af vinen.
Næsen er uhyre elegant med dybe noter af røde bær, skovbund og hvid peber. Strukturen er vitterligt blød og svævende som silke, og smagen åbenbarer lag på lag af fine noter af sarte bærfrugter, træ og svampe inden det hele munder ud i en lang eftersmag med den fineste syre. Et brag af et glas!
Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy - 92-94
Clos Sorbè has a red soil in contrast to the brown earth of Clos Baulet. A dark crimson purple. Dark fruit in volume, concentrated, more tannins as well, a touch of iron in there, “tobacco and spices” offers Jacques. It is a bulkier style of wine all round, thus hiding the whole bunch more. Needs more elevage. Drink from 2030-2037. Tasted Nov 2024.
Burghound - 91-93
This is aromatically bright, more elegant and just a bit fresher as well with its anise-tinged nose of dark berries, kirsch and violet. There is again good vibrancy and a sleek mouthfeel to the generous and succulent middle weight flavors that conclude in a firm, balanced and lingering finale. Clos Sorbé is almost always a wine of finesse and this fits that mold.
Vinous - 92-94
The 2023 Morey-Saint-Denis Clos Sorbet 1er Cru contains 50% whole bunch, which is much more integrated on the nose. Beautiful brambly red fruit, crushed stone and hints of freshly-rolled tobacco come through with time. Very finessed and mineral-driven, the palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, gradually building to a poised and persistent finish. This may eventually surpass the 2022.
Decanter - 95
The Clos Sorbè is just across the street from the Clos Baulet, but the difference is striking. The soil has more iron and produces a wine with deeper colour and yet more red fruit than black, with aromas of ripe cherry and lavender. The texture is more ethereal, but there is still a lovely freshness and depth of flavour. The grapes are from the domaine’s 1.15 hectares here; the wine should be approachable earlier than the Clos Baulet – try a bottle in five years.
