Niepoort Bioma Crusted Port er blendet af flere forskellige årgange, hvor langt hovedparten kommer fra 2012-årgangen. Den byder på en mørkerød portvin med blålige nuancer i kanten, og en yderst velduftende aroma af mørke bær. Smagen er fyldig og blød, med noter af især brombær og blommer. Her får man en oplagt ledsager til desserter, hvad enten menuen står på mørk chokolade eller blåskimmel oste.

They are still selling the NV Bioma Vinha Velha Crusted Port that was bottled in 2014, before they certified it as organic (Bioma is the organic range), and comes from a strange category that not many producers make. It matured in oak for two or three years, but you have to wait for the bottles to throw a sediment, which takes at least three years. It's a blend of two or three vintages, and it turns into a lighter style of Vintage, with more oomph than LBV, very good value for money. It comes with 88 grams of sugar, has a bit of earthiness and still feels young, as it's evolving at a slow pace. I'd wait to pull the cork, because I like the perfume and complexity it develops with more years in bottle. 7,500 bottles were filled in 2014.

This has an absorbing nose of graphite, blackberries, asphalt and incense. Full-bodied with grainy tannins and a well-integrated texture that complements the broad yet focused fruit. From organically grown grapes. It will evolve gracefully but already shows compelling youthful vitality. Drink or hold.
