A new wine for the domaine this year – the vines were out on contract elsewhere previously. The rows run north-south so both sides see the sun for part of the day. Medium deep crimson-purple. Plenty of red fruit on the nose, strawberry and ripe raspberry. Fills the mouth well, with a light oakiness behind. Good length.

The 2021 Volnay 1er Cru Robardelle is generous, bursting with aromas of blackberries, licorice and toasty oak, followed by a medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy palate with a rich core of fruit, sweet tannins and a saline finish.
