Fuligni smager fortryllende i årgang 2020.

Jeb Dunnuck - 97

A bright red color with orange highlights, the 2020 Brunello Di Montalcino is very pretty, with a delicate rustic hint that I find quite attractive. It reveals attractive red fruit on the nose, with notes of cranberries, wild herbs, and just a subtle hint of saddle leather and blood orange. Mid-weight, it's light on its feet while delivering wonderful energy and freshness, with snappy ripe red fruit, a refreshing, angular feel, and mouthwatering saline and acidity. This is certainly one of the highlights of the 2020 vintage.

Kerin O'Keefe - 97

The 2020 Brunello from Fuligni is fragrant, smooth and delicious. It opens with enticing aromas of wild berry, violet, crushed mint and pine forest. Full-bodied and loaded with flavor and finesse, it delivers mature Marasca cherry, raspberry, star anise and cake spice set against fine-grained tannins. Boasting a weightless finesse, it’s well balanced, with fresh acidity.

Falstaff - 97

Bright ruby red. Elegantly fragrant nose, inviting, with cherry cordial, malt, precious wood, subtle hints of cold smoke and dried rose petal. Very juicy and clear on the palate, with a polished, elegant finish. Wit a fine salty undertone, it has light mint aromas. Long, vibrant, fine.

Decanter - 96

Immense, sober and timeless elegance to indulge in little by little. The rigorous, territorial, aromatic framework leaves room for a well-balanced gustative texture between mature tannins and balsamic freshness. The 380-450m-high vineyards extend over about 15ha, mainly around the winery's nucleus, on the north-eastern slope of the Montalcino hillside.

Vinous - 95

Rich and exuberant in the glass, the 2020 Brunello di Montalcino bursts with autumnal spices, crushed raspberries, shaved cedar and dusty rose. It impresses further with a core of ripe red berry fruits that saturate deeply, displaying a pleasant inner sweetness offset by a salty core of minerality. The 2020 leaves the palate drenched in primary concentration with a tart cranberry, licorice resonance and grippy tannins, all while maintaining a remarkably fresh persona. The 2020 has a large-scale feel with expertly maintained balance.

James Suckling - 95

Smoky woodland, dried flowers and earthy notes, then cherries and red berries. Full of licorice root, too. The layered fruit profile follows through to a medium-bodied palate with additional, toasty flavors. The firm, velvety tannins show a slightly austere grain on the finish, yet balanced by the fruit and acidity. A powerful wine with lots of character. Try from 2026.

Wine Enthusiast - 95

The nose presents aromas of bing cherries, strawberries, wild fennel and wild mint above a foundation of damp earth. Raspberries join more cherries and strawberries on a juicy, warm palate, but chalky, chewy tannins accentuate the damp earth element, which lingers as an undertone.

Robert Parker - 94+

Here is another very elegant expression from a sunny vintage that successfully hones in on a bright, fruit-forward drinking style. The Fuligni 2020 Brunello di Montalcino shows dark fruit aromas, spruce pine cone, wildflowers and light spice. It wraps smoothly over the palate with an elegant, mid-weight texture.

The Wine Independent - 94

The 2020 Brunello di Montalcino has a very pretty nose of juicy red fruits, wildflowers, fresh-picked ripe mint, and spring meadow. The palate is a lovely balance of polished tannins with a hint of savory rusticity which lends a pleasant dichotomy, and aided with a bright acid profile. It's a very enjoyable bottle that lends pleasure without having to contemplate.

Wine Spectator - 93

A core of cherry and plum leads off, accented with vanilla, earth, eucalyptus and iron notes. Muscular, with an expansive finish accentuating the tannins. Enjoy this on the earlier side. Best from 2027 through 2038.
