Extremely cool, subtle and precise, you can almost smell the sun and wind of the late fall days when this was harvested. Also lemon balm and baking yeast aromas. Super focused and refined on the creamy mid-palate, then comes the enormously long, concentrated and tightly wound finish. From biodynamically grown grapes with Respekt certification. Vegan. Drink or hold.

The 2021 Brunnenhäuschen Riesling GG offers a clear, intense and warm, tender and very elegant as well as balanced bouquet of ripe fruits, crushed limestone and iron. Silky and very elegant on the palate, this is a full-bodied yet pure, saline and stimulating Riesling from red clay-limestone. In terms of texture, this is a finely tannic and still nobly bitter-finishing Brunnenhäuschen. It is a kind of bridge from Westhofen to Wittmann's Niersteiner, and its balanced, silky character is closer to the Niersteiner than to, for example, Keller's Abtserde. 12.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in August 2022.

Deep, cool and elegant with smoky notes of wet stone, lemon balm and baked lemon. The creamy palate is still quite closed at this point, with only the unrelenting strength and momentum to suggest the full extent of unrealised potential. Hints of extract and sweetness are balanced by a beautiful zesty energy and concentration. 

Falstaff Magazin - 95+

A complex mineral-spicy nose, lemon balm and marjoram, dried lemon peel, a touch overripe. In the mouth, the acidity seems firm and as concentrated as the phenolics and tactile-mineral components. Underneath the gripping structure lies a layer of suppleness.
