Her er intens kirsebærfrugt, blomster, fine krydderier og en silkeblød fylde, samlet i en Brunello med imponerende dybde og elegance. Fuligni laver kun Riserva i særligt vellykkede årgange. Druerne er 100 % Sangiovese fra ejendommens ældste vinmarker i Montalcino, hvor udvælgelsen til Riserva stiller ekstra krav til koncentration, balance og udviklingspotentiale. Årgangen har et generøst, indbydende udtryk med rig frugt og modne tanniner. Samtidig løber en frisk syre gennem smagen og giver den præcision, som gør Fulignis vine så betagende. Man får både den umiddelbare glæde ved saftig, moden Sangiovese og en vin med mange nuancer at vende tilbage til. Det er en Riserva, som fortjener tid og opmærksomhed. Allerede nu viser den sin klasse med luft i glasset, mens nogle år i kælderen vil give de mange lag endnu bedre mulighed for at finde sammen.

Servér til braiseret oksekød, vildsvineragù eller lammekølle med rosmarin. Vildt med svampe og lagret pecorino er også værdige ledsagere.
Falstaff - 99
Bright, radiant, and sparkling ruby red. Precise and clear on the nose, with notes of fine wood, cranberries, underbrush, a subtle hint of black truffle, and ripe cherries. On the palate, it is extremely juicy and crisp, releasing a radiant aroma of red fruits—sweet and well-integrated, with great finesse and elegance: a world-class wine!
James Suckling - 98
Wow. This is an outstanding wine with plenty of complexity. Classic aromas of licorice, crushed stones, red cherries, wild strawberries, smoke, woodland and earth. Full-bodied, juicy, velvety and dense, with a long, savory finish. Drinkable now, but best from 2027.
Decanter - 96
Produced since 1970, Fuligni’s Riserva celebrates its 50th anniversary with this 2020 release. While I am not sure it will be the estate’s longest-lived edition, it is undeniably poised to deliver substantial pleasure over the course of its lifespan. Unequivocally in its youthful phase, it currently exudes dark red cherry and pomegranate punctuated by sweet spice and an exotic hit of mahogany oil. Grenadine and candied violet suffuse the palate. The tannins are taut and refined, buttressing the weighty core. On the precipice of tipping the scales just as the fresh acidity breezes through with an effortless lift.
Jeb Dunnuck - 96
Pouring a deeper ruby red hue, the 2020 Brunello Di Montalcino Riserva Centenario Fuligni has a riper, more fruit-driven profile on the nose, with black raspberries, baked red cherries, dark stones, rosemary, and refined resinous tones. The palate is medium to full-bodied and broad-shouldered, with ripe tannins and an expansive texture, and on a second tasting, a subtle note of worn leather folds in nicely. It’s the top selection of the vintage here and should drink beautifully with time. Drink 2026-2050.
Robert Parker - 95
This wine bears a special banner on the front label to celebrate the estate’s centenarian anniversary from 1920 to 2020, marking a milestone for one of Montalcino’s longstanding winemaking families. The Fuligni 2020 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva shows sweet fruit, soft tannins and medium- to full-bodied structure, with a profile that is more open and approachable than usual for the category. While it is already generous and giving, the wine should still reward further cellar aging thanks to its balance and underlying structure, a hallmark of Fuligni’s traditionally styled Riservas. The wine sees four years of aging in large Slavonian oak casks and is released in a limited production of 6,000 bottles.
