Klassisk supertoscaner på et blend af Sangiovese og Cabernet Sauvignon.
Concerto di Fonterutoli er en ærkeklassisk toscansk rødvin, der første gang blev lanceret tilbage i 1981. Med sit blend bestående af 80 procent Sangiovese og 20 procent Cabernet Sauvignon var Concerto di Fonterutoli således en del af 1980'ernes paradigmeskifte i området, hvor begrebet "supertoscanere" begyndte at se dagens lys.
I årgang 2023 er Concerto di Fonterutoli en flot og seriøst rødvin med masser af balanceret power og finesse. Vinen er mørk i glasset, med tydelige noter af mørk frugt, tørrede krydderurter, tobak og læder. Den høje andel af Sangiovese-druen sikrer en rank struktur, flot syre og velafstemte og fine tanniner.
En stor rødvin, der er blevet hædret med flotte 94 point fra både James Suckling og Vinous samt 95 point fra Decanter.
Vinous - 94
The 2023 Concerto di Fonterutoli is elegant and sophisticated from start to finish. Lifted aromatic overtones and silky tannins caress the palate in this gracious, polished wine. Dark red/blue-toned fruit, lavender, rose petal, cinnamon and mocha all build effortlessly in the glass. A final kick of Cabernet Sauvignon savoriness frames the close. This is very nicely done.
James Suckling - 94
A firm and silky red with blackberry, black olive, blackcurrant and crushed stone aromas. Iodine and oyster shell undertones, Medium-bodied with pretty flavors of dark fruit and chocolate. Crunchy and firm. 80% sangiovese and 20% cabernet sauvignon. Needs a few years to come together. Drink after 2027.
Decanter - 95
A fantastic Concerto. Fragrant rose petals and savoury garrigue herbs, some leather, tobacco, chocolate, cherry and damson fruit too. Razor sharp and lifted with the most delicious dollop of strawberry juice with high acidity that instantly lifts the palate despite such complex flavours. Layered and multi faceted, this is a party in a glass and is such a crowd pleaser. I love the slightly chaky, grainy tannins and the plentiful massy fruit feel. Ripe and generous with a playful attitude. Out to please. Even after a week this wine held up and was still so enjoyable. An amazing food wine. It maybe doesn't reach the heights of the exceptional 2021 with it’s purity and definition ,but this is extremely well made and so easy to enjoy.
