Domaine Les Palliéres 'Terrasse du Diable', er hovedsageligt lavet på Grenache-druen. Et højt indhold af Grenache giver normalt en blød og rund vin, men markerne er højt beliggende, og oppe i højderne gror der muskler frem i Grenache-vin. Det kammer aldrig over, men det betyder, at man på næsten ren Grenache kan opnå en fabelagtig struktur i vinen.
Fra i gennemsnit 45 år gamle vinstokke, der vokser i 250-400 meters højde, kommer denne flotte Gigondas, der i årgang 2023 er lavet på 95 % Grenache mens de resterende 10 % udgøres af Syrah, Cinsault og Mourvèdre.
Druerne høstes ved håndkraft og vinificeres i temperaturkontrollerede cementtanke og træfade. Herefter lagres vinen i 20 måneder på 6000 liters egefade og yderligere 3-4 måneder på flaske, inden den frigives.
En fyldig og blød rødvin med noter af fed mørk frugt, grillede krydderurter og let mineralitet.

A well-rounded, lively and almost floral Gigondas with small red berries, wildflowers and baking spices on the nose, following through to a full body with polished tannins. Seductive texture with supple fruit character to the long, fine finish.
Vinous - 92
The only red Gigondas from Domaine Les Pallières this year due to the coulure-derived absence of the Racines, the 2023 Gigondas Terrasse du Diable was bottled in May 2025. Blending 95% Grenache with dollops of Syrah, Cinsault and Mourvèdre, it unwinds with ripe red plum, raspberry and leafy tones. Herbal elements add more complexity. Smoothly textured and refined, the medium- to full-bodied 2023 Terrasse du Diable stands shoulder to shoulder with the 2022 I tasted a year ago.

A high-toned version, with red fruit and lavender revealing plenty of simmering graphite power underneath, along with streaks of wild herbs, baker’s chocolate and incense smoke. Due to the tiny yields, there won't be a Racines, but the 2023 Gigondas Terrasse Du Diable offers a solid ruby hue to go with a deeper, richer nose of black cherries, roasted garrigue, licorice, and crushed stone. It's medium-bodied and has a supple, elegant mouthfeel and outstanding length.
