Enkeltmarken Aulerde i Weshofen er beliggende for foden af Kirchspiels skråninger. Her er klimaet varmest, og druerne modnes tidligt. Marken blev første gang registreret helt tilbage i 1380 og har i dag status som Grosses Gewächs - den højeste klassifikation af tørre tyske vine.
Riesling-druerne høstes og selekteres manuelt - klase for klase - for at sikre, at kun den sundeste frugt ender i vinen. Udbyttet holdes bevidst lavt, og da vinstokkene har en høj alder, opnås en større koncentrationen i vinen, som primært lagres på 1200 liters fade af tysk eg. Stokkene, der leverer frugten til Aulerde er således plantet mellem 1949 og 1951.
Det resulterer i en ædel, kølig og elegant hvidvin med lag af citrus, tropisk frugt og urter. Her er nuancer af tørret abrikos, fersken, mango og ananas, der munder ud i en lang eftersmag med saftige syreindspark og markant mineralitet.

Vinous - 95
The 2024 Riesling Westhofener Aulerde Grosses Gewächs is from the richer, deeper soils of Aulerde, from vines that are now well over 70 years old. Just a touch of reduction trembles on the nose, with a lovely flicker of anise and a streak of peach. The palate is smooth, straight and linear but with wonderful fill and fluidity. Lemony brightness offers overtones of yellow plum and white peach. (Bone-dry)
Falstaff Magazin - 94
Floral hints, still closed, nuances of the rich aromatics to develop. Plenty of tension o the palate, the acidity is balanced by subtle phenolics and a supple base. Very good, homogeneous, long.
